Discover: Good creative directors don’t create identity. Rather, through the creative process, they discover the personality and spirit that already exists within the company or product and embody it through various media. Align Values: Good advertising design must invoke a person to engage with their desires and examine what they value. Through this invocation unfolds the opportunity to offer that which he or she values – now the alignment is complete.

The careful balance between function and form – an inspiring challenge

Form: Beautiful images and good design will cause your viewers to feel, but it won’t necessarily cause them to act. Function: This is about calling a person to the action you desire. Neither should disturb the other, they have to coexist in harmony, and that’s not an easy thing to do.

There has to be something real behind the idea – something fundamentally valuable

Successful advertising design is about innovative ideas that work for your client. I get paid to think more than anything. Good ideas flow from right thinking that is in harmony with fundamental values: peace, security, health, freedom, comfort, belonging.
